Volvo S80 is a large sedan body styled vehicle, measuring 4822 mm (189.84 in.) - 4854 mm (191.1 in.) in length, 1832 mm (72.13 in.) - 1907 mm (75.08 in.) in width, and 1450 mm (57.09 in.) - 1493 mm (58.78 in.) in height.
Volvo S80 vehicles, powered by diesel engines, have fuel economy of between 4 l/100 km (58.8 mpg) and 7.3 l/100 km (32.22 mpg), with efficiency generally improving in the more recent model years variants.
Volvo S80 variants, equipped with 3.0-liter T6 engines, are available in facelifted second generation ranges. In the 2009 facelift, they produce 285 Hp and 400 Nm of torque, while in the 2011 and 2013 ones, power was increased to 304 Hp and 440 Nm of torque.
The Volvo S80 range does offer cars, that can produce some good power and speed, such as the 4.4 i V8 (315 Hp) and 3.0 T6 (304 Hp) variants, which go from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 – 6.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 250 km/h.
An all-wheel-drive Volvo S80 variant was first made available in the second generation range and a few more were added after the 2009, 2011, and 2013 facelifts.
Despite many owners being satisfied with the performance of their Volvo S80 vehicles and the brand having great reputation for safety and reliability, a number of common issues with the model have been reported. Those include the fuel gauge showing false information, loose seat belts, possible fuel leaks, suspension and power break failures, unusual smell from the engine (for diesel versions), loss of power steering.
