Fuel economy of Toyota RAV4 vehicles, equipped with 2.0-liter diesel engines, averages 5.9 l/ 100 km (39.87 mpg). Consumption figures of more recent variants, however, go as low as 4.7 l/ 100 km (50.05 mpg).
The Toyota RAV4 range offers 2 types of hybrid variants – full and plug-in hybrids, all equipped with 2.5-liter petrol engines. Full hybrids are included in the facelifted fourth generation, where they produce 197 Hp, 210 Nm, and in the fifth generation, where three very similar output options are available - 218 Hp, 221 Nm; 219 Hp, 221 Nm; and 222 Hp, 221 Nm.
Plug-in hybrids are, as well, available in the fifth generation with two output options - 302 Hp, 224 Nm and 306 Hp, 227 Nm.
Both generations of the all-electric Toyota RAV4 EV were available in very small quantities for limited periods of time and are no longer in production.
The “4” in the Toyota RAV4 name actually stands for “4-wheel-drive”, therefore the majority of the variants are equipped with all-wheel-drive systems. Front-wheel-drive options, however, are also available.
The third generation Toyota RAV4 is available in a short- and long-wheelbase version, the latter offering 7 seats.
Toyota RAV4 is a reliable, durable, and well-built vehicle. As a result, it tends to hold good resale value and not depreciate as fast as other brands’ models.
