Fuel economy is best with variants from 2012 onwards, going down to 4.5 l/100 km (52.27 mpg) (2012 Opel Zafira Tourer C 2.0 CDTI (130 Hp) Ecotec start/stop). Highest fuel consumption across the range is 10.1 l/100 km (23.29 mpg) (2001 Opel Zafira A (T3000) OPC 2.0 16V (192 Hp)).
Length varies between 4317 mm (169.96 in.) and 4666 mm (183.7 in.), depending on the modification.
It was initially released as a 7-seater, where the 3rd row of seats could be folded down into the floor. 5-seater variants were later on included in the range.
Many owners of Opel Zafira report no major issues with their vehicles. Some minor problems, however, have been pointed out, for example, with blocked diesel particulate filters, with electronics and xenon headlights. Despite mostly positive reviews from drivers, in 2015 there was a worrying number of cases of Opel Zafira vehicles catching on fire, which led to a safety recall of the model.
