The 4.0-liter V8 turbocharged petrol engine, that they are equipped with, produces 612 Hp and 850 Nm of torque - enough to accelerate the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h is 3.8 seconds (0-60 mph: 3.6 seconds) and to a top speed of 280 km/h (173.98 mph).
The first Mercedes-Benz GLE Plug-in Hybrid, that is included in the 2015 model year SUV range has a fuel consumption of 3.5 l/100 km (67.2 mpg). In the following years and generations, however, efficiency was substantially improved, going down to 1.1 l/100 km (213.83 mpg).
The majority of Mercedes-Benz GLE vehicles have a 5-seat configuration. The 2019 model year SUV range, however, offers 7-seat options, as well.
