For months there has been a string of speculations whether or not Maserati will debut a new model and under what nameplate. Surprisingly, the Italian car manufacturer has just dispelled the rumors by officially announcing the name of their upcoming sports car model.
Called MC20, the mysterious vehicle is inspired by the racing world and most specific – Maserati’s racing Corse subdivision. The number 20 comes from the year 2020 which, according to the company’s official sources will be a turning point for production plans and development plans. This somehow correlates with the brand’s intentions of expanding its model line with exciting ad more ecological additions.
The look and the technical specifications of the future car are still kept secret. Its official debut will be held sometime in May.
