According to EPA’s official range estimate, Lucid Air Dream Edition Range currently (as of 2021) has the longest range for any electric car rated by the EPA. The figure stands at 520 miles (837 km) on a single full battery charge. This is over 100 miles (160 km) longer than that of Tesla's longest range model S.
Lucid Air is packed with technology, as one would expect from a luxury electric vehicle. It features a floating screen design, which consist of 3 separate screens – an instrument cluster and two smaller screens on each side. All three actually work together and give the impression of one big display, where frequently used controls and vital information is included. There is also a lower screen, that controls less frequently needed features of the vehicle.
While quality of Lucid Air’s interior materials is, indeed, high and gives a deluxe feel, it is not as high as in other vehicles in its class, with Mercedes-Benz and Audi remaining leaders in the area.
An interesting design feature, however, that makes the Lucid Air appear more luxurious, is the fact that front and rear seats are not in the same color. The former are in a darker shade of gray, striving to give a sportier feel to the driver, while for the latter a lighter gray color was used, in order to create a more relaxed atmosphere for passengers.
The bear that can be found throughout Lucid Air’s design resembles the bear on the flag of the state of California, where the brand’s headquarters is. The bear appears to be an unofficial mascot of the company.
Lucid Air is a luxury vehicle, confirmed by both its characteristics and price. Price ranges and highly depends on the particular trim level of choice. The starting price (as of 2021) is around USD 77 000 for a base model, which still has a lot to offer – about 500 horsepower and over 650 km of range. The price figure goes all the way up to USD 170 000 for the top of the range Lucid Air Dream Edition.
