Many owners use their Hyundai Elantra vehicles for anywhere up to 20 years, given the proper maintenance is being done. The model is a range of dependable, durable, both practical and fun to drive cars. Some issues, however, have been reported in customer reviews, mainly engine and brake related.
Smart Cruise Control - the name Hyundai uses for its adaptive cruise control, was first available for the Elantra as an optional upper trim feature in the sixth-generation model range (for the North American market). Following generations continue offering the technology as an option and it has not yet been made standard (as of 2022).
Heated seats, front and/ or rear, are available to have in a Hyundai Elantra, depending on the particular variant, trim level, and package. Heated seats are among the optional premum features from the fifth-generation Elantra onwards. For the 2019 facelift, however, this oprion was modified and heated rear seats are no longer available.
Along with exterior design and technology updates, the interior of the latest (as of 2022) 2021 Hyundai Elantra received some improvements, as well. The slightly larger dimensions of the car result in a roomier interior, mainly offering more leg room to rear passengers. A redesigned instrument panel is present, offering twin digital display screens as an option, having different views to deliver the information needed to the driver.
The Sport Package available for the Hyundai Elantra includes enhanced features, which depend on the particular model year. These features initially included a rear spoiler, power sunroof, 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lamps, trip computer and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather shifter. For later generations of the model range, projector headlights with LED accents, LED taillights, new wheel designs, a driver's blind spot mirror, and a backup camera are among the features added later on to the Sport Package, as well.
