Ford Galaxy is a minivan and is by no means a small vehicle. Its dimensions are between 4641 mm (182.72 in.) and 4848 mm (190.87 in.) in length, 1810 mm (71.26 in.) and 1916 mm (75.43 in.) in width, and 1732 mm (68.19 in.) and 1747 mm (68.78 in.) in height, with more recent vehicles being the largest.
With full-hybrid options and Ford’s EcoBlue diesel powertrains, the Galaxy range generally offers great fuel economy. Most variants’ fuel consumption figures do not exceed 6.7 l/100 km (35.11 mpg).
Ford Galaxy variants, that run entirely on fuel, have a tank capacity of 70 l (18.49 gal) or 75 l (19.81 gal). Hybrid alternatives, are equipped with slightly smaller fuel tanks – 65 l (17.17 gal).
Ford Galaxy vehicles, powered by 1.9-liter turbocharged diesel engines, are featured in the first generation and are among the least powerful in the model range. Output options are 90 Hp, 110 Hp, 116 Hp, and 130 Hp, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is between 12.8 and 17.1 seconds (0-60 mph: between 12.2 and 16.2 seconds), and top speed – between 160 km/h (99.42 mph) and 188 km/h (116.82 mph), depending on the modification.
For the 2020 model year, Ford introduced a full-hybrid Galaxy to the model range. It uses a 190 Hp petrol-electric powertrain, reducing fuel economy and CO2 emissions. No fully-electric Ford Galaxy, however, has been made available, so far.
First and second generations Ford Galaxy range only offers 7-seat vehicles. This was changed for the third generation of the model, where 5-seat versions were added, as well.
