The 2-door Coupe and 4-door Gran Coupe are 2 of the 3 body style options available for the BMW 4 Series. Despite the difference in door configuration, they are close to identical in their dimensions, the only difference being in their height, with the 4 Series Gran Coupe being slightly taller than the Coupe.
BMW 4 Series is available in 2 main body styles (as of 2021) – Coupe and Convertible, with the former also offering different options – 2-door 4-seat (Coupe) and 4- or 5-door 5-seat (Gran Coupe) configurations. Hatchback variants are not currently available in the 4 Series model range.
The beginning of the 4 Series model is marked by the decision of BMW to distinguish the 3 Series 2-door variants into a separate model in the year 2013. The two models are almost identical in their dimensions, with the 4 Series being slightly larger in length and width only compared to pre-2010 3 Series variants.
BMW 4 Series offers some impressive power throughout the whole model range, especially in more recently introduced variants. BMW 4 Series can currently (as of 2021) be found with either rear-wheel drive or xDrive – BMW’s name for its all-wheel drive system. Variants from each generation are offered with either one or the other drivetrain layout. Front-wheel drive is not available in the 4 Series model range.
BMW 4 Series Convertibles, introduced in 2014, are all 4-seat vehicles. This is the only seat configuration currently available for these variants (as of 2021).
