Audi has announced the S5 TDI in both, coupe and four-door Sportback versions, for the European market. For the first time a diesel power is added to the S5 lineup. Another innovative addition is the EPS (Electrically Powered Supercharger) used also in the latest versions of S6 and S7 models. The new edition is coupled with Mild Hybrid System.
The new S5 TDI is equipped with an EPS (Electrically Powered Supercharger) - the latest Audi's technology, that succeeds to eliminate the much-dreaded turbo lag. Like the new S6 and S7 vehicles, the S5 TDI draws upon a 48-V mild hybrid-assisted 3.0-liter V6 turbo-diesel engine. It produces a power of 255kW and 700Nm of torque in the range of 2500 and 3100rpm.
The manufacturer claims the S5 coupe can dash from 0-100 kmph in 4.8 seconds (4.9 seconds for the Sportback), while top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h. At the same time, the fuel consumption is rated at just 6.2L/100km, on the combined cycle.

The 3.0 TDI engine of S5 is coupled with an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission. It provides the car with sporty performance, thanks to the ultra fast and smooth shifting. S5 TDI is equipped with a quattro permanent all-wheel drive system with a self-locking center differential. In addition to that, a wheel-selective torque control ensures the stability of the vehicle even in sport driving mode. The quattro with sport differential is a part of extra equipment, intended for those who seek and enjoy a real race-like driving experience.

True to the progressive Audi design language, the new S5 shows sharp edges and wide surfaces, forming a bold and beautiful silhouette. The low and wide front grille is accentuated by shiny aluminium struts. The front bumper gets a modern 3D design with an aluminium blade finishing the stylish S5 TDI front stance. Aluminium caps house the side mirrors. The rear spoiler in both ,coupe and Sportback versions, evokes the feeling of sportiness and dynamism. Audi S5 TDI is equipped with 18-inch wheels as a standard, but 19 and 20-inch variants are also available in the configuration.
Inside the cabin floor mats are finished in black. Seats offer several variants for upholstery to choose from :
Optionally, a contrast stitching is also included on a demand. To provide exceptional comfort for the driver, sport seats with massage function are also available, as an extra.

Audi’s S5 TDI model has the standard Audi MMI integrated. It successfully combines various car functionalities, navigation software and infotainment system. It can be easily controlled via voice commands or through the optional 12,3-inch central display. The most important car’s data can be projected on the specific area of the windshield as an extra. An integrated Audi connect hardware module, with a Wi-Fi hotspot, delivers numerous internet services. Along with that, Audi offers as an extra a phone box connect – compatible with both, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The newly developed Audi S5 TDI offers an elegant sport design, high-quality interior and latest technologies - not only in terms of software systems but also in powertrain innovations. The model will go on sale in May 2019.
