The 2020 Ram 1500 is expected to become America’s best half-ton diesel pickup. The next-gen vehicle provides a torque of 650 Nm, and pretends to be the most capable light-duty diesel, with towing capacity up to 5700kg. The new addition in the model is the 3.0-liter V-6 EcoDiesel. The innovative engine is expected to lead the segment on fuel economy.
The famous truck manufacturer claims that 2020 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel will be the most powerful half-ton diesel pick-up in America. Thanks to the implemented eTorque mild-hybrid powertrain technology, the new EcoDiesel engine ensures the highest possible fuel efficiency for the third-generation RAM 1500. All variants and configurations will be available with the 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel engine. But up to the present moment, only the Rebel model includes the innovative engine as a standard feature. The sale of the newest edition of Ram1500 is expected to start in late 2019.

The third generation of the turbocharged 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 delivers increased torque and horsepower, along with excellent fuel economy. In order to fulfil the customer’s expectations, the levels of noise, vibration and harshness are minimized. The torque in the 2020 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel V-6 is increased to 650Nm of torque at 1,600 rpm, while the horsepower increases to 260 hp at 3,600 rpm.
Thanks to several significant changes, the new Eco Diesel offers improved dynamics, fuel efficiency and better performance.

The upgraded previous EcoDiesel V-6 was a real success. It has been a winner of "Wards 10 Best Engines" for three consecutive years (2014, 2015, 2016). The hopes of the manufacturer are the upgraded engine to achieve even better results.
The 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 uses dual overhead camshafts (DOHC) with four valves per cylinder and a 60-degree angle between the cylinder banks. The block is cast with compacted graphite iron, which provides additional strength to dampen vibrations, but weighs less than grey cast iron. A compacted graphite iron bedplate adds rigidity to the block. The EcoDiesel V-6 uses a forged steel crankshaft and connecting rods for strength and durability. Via oil jets on the underside, the aluminium alloy pistons are cooled. Heat-treated aluminium cylinder heads use individual bearing caps to reduce friction and minimize NVH. The chain-driven overhead camshafts employ roller-finger followers.

As a segment leader, the 2020 RAM 1500 offers a high-tech pack in its cabin. A massive 12-inch touchscreen with the new U-connect 4C leads the pickup world in technology. The offered split-screen capability and the 360-degree camera provides the driver with additional comfort. Active safety and security systems include adaptive cruise control, Forward Collision Warning, Blind-spot Monitoring and Ready Alert Braking. Class-leading ride and handling is accomplished thanks to a class-exclusive link-coil rear suspension system. The 2020 Ram 1500 also provides excellent interior storage capacity.
